Terms of Service
Last updated: September 24, 2026
1. About these terms
CaribSalaries ("we", "us", "the Service") operates caribsalaries.com, a platform where people share and browse salary information and workplace reviews across the Caribbean. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
The Service is operated by CaribSalaries, an online-only service based in Jamaica.
2. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. You may browse without an account. Submitting salary data or reviews may be done with an account or anonymously, subject to these Terms.
3. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@caribsalaries.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
Emails you will get. Creating an account means you agree to receive occasional emails from us about CaribSalaries: changes to the product, and announcements when a new salary insight report is published. This is told to you on the signup page, before you create the account, and not buried here.
Three limits on that, which we hold ourselves to:
- Every one of these emails has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing costs you nothing else — your account keeps working exactly as before.
- We will not send you anyone else's marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or share your email address with advertisers.
- Emails you cannot unsubscribe from are only the ones the account cannot work without: confirming your address, resetting your password, and telling you about a security problem or a change to these Terms.
If you would rather not receive product emails at all, unsubscribe from the first one, or write to privacy@caribsalaries.com and we will do it for you. You do not need an account to use anything on this site.
4. Content you submit
Accuracy. You may only submit salary information and reviews that are truthful and based on your own genuine experience. Do not submit information about roles you have not held or employers you have not worked for.
Confidentiality. Do not submit information you are legally prohibited from disclosing. Some employment contracts contain confidentiality clauses. It is your responsibility, not ours, to know what you are permitted to share. We do not encourage or ask you to breach any obligation you owe your employer.
No personal data about others. Do not name or identify individual colleagues, managers, or any other person. Reviews must concern the employer as an organisation, not identifiable individuals. See our Review Guidelines.
Licence to us. By submitting content you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, aggregate, anonymise, publish, and display that content in connection with the Service, including in aggregated statistics, insight reports, and products we may sell. You keep ownership of your content. This licence survives deletion of your account to the extent the content has already been aggregated into statistics or published reports, which cannot practically be unwound.
Anonymous submissions. Content submitted anonymously cannot be attributed back to you by us, which also means we generally cannot verify, edit, or remove it at your request, because we have no way to confirm it was yours.
5. Moderation
All submissions are reviewed before publication. We may reject, edit, or remove any content at our discretion, including content that breaches these Terms or our Review Guidelines. We are not obliged to publish anything you submit, and we may remove published content at any time.
Salary figures are published with the number of reports supporting them. Review text and free-text benefit entries are withheld until at least two approved reports exist for the same employer and role, to protect submitters in small workplaces.
6. Accuracy of information — important
Salary information on the Service is submitted by users and is not verified by us. It reflects what individuals have reported, not what any employer has confirmed. Figures may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or unrepresentative. Currency conversions are approximate and based on a rate cached daily.
Do not rely on the Service for employment, financial, or legal decisions without independent verification. The Service is provided for general information only.
7. Employers
If you are an employer and believe content about your organisation is inaccurate, defamatory, or breaches these Terms, contact us at hello@caribsalaries.com with the specific page, the specific statement, and the basis of your concern. We will review it in good faith and respond within a reasonable time. We may remove, annotate, or retain content following review.
We will not disclose the identity of submitters. We do not hold identifying information for anonymous submissions, and we will not hand over account holder details except where we are legally compelled to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- submit false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or unlawful content;
- submit content that identifies an individual person;
- impersonate anyone, or submit content on behalf of someone else;
- attempt to manipulate salary data, ratings, or reviews, including submitting multiple reports for the same role;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the Service without our written permission;
- attempt to circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities without permission;
- use the Service to build a competing dataset or product.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service's design, code, branding, curated taxonomies, and aggregated statistics are ours. You may link to pages freely and quote small amounts with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions of our data.
10. Paid products
We may sell salary insight reports and other paid products. Prices are shown before purchase. Because these are digital products delivered immediately, purchases are final and non-refundable once accessed, except where refunds are required by applicable law or where the product was materially not as described. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.
11. Digital report purchases and refunds
This section applies to paid PDF reports and the account dashboard that comes with them. It sits alongside section 10 and, where the two differ, this section governs.
These are digital goods, delivered immediately. A report is sent to the email address given at checkout as soon as payment is confirmed, usually within a minute. Once delivered it cannot be returned, because there is nothing to return: you have the file.
You waive the right of withdrawal, and you are asked to say so. Consumer protection law in several jurisdictions gives a buyer fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase. That right does not survive delivery of digital content where the buyer has asked for immediate delivery and acknowledged the consequence. At checkout you must tick a box confirming exactly that before payment can proceed. The checkout will not continue without it, and the confirmation is recorded against your purchase.
Refunds are available in two cases:
- Payment confirmed, report never delivered. Write to hello@caribsalaries.com. We will resend the report or refund you in full within five business days.
- The report was materially different from its description. Write to hello@caribsalaries.com within fourteen days of purchase, telling us what differs. "Materially different" means the report does not contain what the storefront said it contains. It does not mean you disagreed with the findings, or that the figures moved after publication.
Duplicate purchases. If you buy the same report twice by accident, tell us and we will refund the duplicate in full. You do not need to give a reason.
Dashboard access is tied to your account, permanently. Buying a report while signed in unlocks its interactive dashboard on that account and keeps it unlocked. If you delete your account, that access goes with it and is not refundable, because deletion is something you chose and cannot be undone by us. Your downloaded PDF is unaffected: it is yours.
Guest purchases arrive by email. If you bought without an account and the delivery email bounces or never arrives, write to hello@caribsalaries.com with your payment confirmation and we will resend it.
Prices are in United States dollars. What your bank charges you in another currency, and what it charges for converting, is between you and your bank. A movement in the exchange rate between purchase and settlement is not grounds for a refund.
A new edition is a new product. Where we publish an updated edition of a report, it is sold separately. Buying one edition does not entitle you to later ones. The dashboard that comes with a purchase does keep updating, which is a different thing from a new edition of the PDF.
Getting in touch about a purchase. hello@caribsalaries.com, and we aim to reply within two business days.
12. Advertising
The Service displays advertising. Ads are labelled. We do not endorse advertisers, and advertising does not influence the salary data or reviews we publish.
13. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We aim for continuity but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for loss of profits, opportunity, employment, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of JMD 10,000 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from content you submit in breach of these Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and the courts of Jamaica have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new "last updated" date, and for material changes we will give notice on the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
